Scintillation properties of ((CH<sub>3</sub>)<sub>4</sub>N)<sub>3</sub>BiCl<sub>6</sub> as a novel lead-free perovskite halide crystal

Abstract Two-dimensional hybrid organic-inorganic perovskites (2D-HOIPs) possess intriguing structural properties which makes them promising materials for diverse optical, electronic and scintillation applications. Recently, several classes of exhibit potential candidate radiation detection. However, the corrugated-type 2D-HOIPs have not been studied so far. In this work, we investigate performance bismuth chloride ((CH 3 ) 4 N) BiCl 6 lead-free candidate. No strong RL intensity at room temperature is observed due to a thermal quenching. A small negative quenching also observed, infer presence trap states characterized by two activation energies: E 1 = 25.71 meV ${E}_{2}$?> 2 129.27 meV. addition, low afterglow 10 K estimated be 70 s (14.5%) 1200 (85.5%). thermoluminescence exhibits broad band, attributed quasi-continuous distribution shallow traps. All these results shed some light on fundamentals bismuth-based perovskites.
